International English: Intercultural Communication & Negotiation for GCs
Most General Counsel and Chief Legal Officers work entirely, or largely, in the English language and in an international and intercultural setting. For some of the GCN’ers, English is their native language, but for most it is Dutch. Although we have all had some training in ‘Intercultural Differences,’ for GCs/CLOs the correct use of language is extremely important for us because, by the very nature of our role, we use language as an essential tool to build and maintain trust.
