EQUAL in LEGAL: Diversity & Inclusion
GCN takes her responsibility in promoting Diversity & Inclusion within the Corporate Legal sector. After all, everyone has the right to equal opportunities, regardless of gender, civil status, race, color, social or economic background, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, occupational limitations, religion or age, and everybody should feel heard and accepted.
In 2019 GCN launched the EQUAL in LEGAL Statement. We reached out to both General Counsel and Legal Service Providers and asked them to support the EIL Statement. Through the EIL Statement the signatories are giving their commitment to promote Diversity and Inclusion within their workplace and share their D&I experiences and initiatives and learn from each other’s initiatives.
EQUAL in LEGAL Statement
We hereby declare that:
- We are committed to promote diversity and inclusion at our workplace. An environment where everyone can be themselves and feels welcome, regardless of gender, civil status, race, color, social or economic background, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, occupational limitations, religion or age. A work environment free of discrimination, intimidation, and bullying and where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
- We believe that diversity and inclusion make our work environment more successful. It promotes creativity and innovation and increases the success of the organization. We believe that inclusive organizations attract talented colleagues who remain loyal.
- We will share our diversity and inclusion experiences and initiatives. We will support the idea to share D&I experiences through the EQUAL in LEGAL Platform, thus sharing knowledge and learning from each other’s initiatives.
EQUAL in LEGAL Platform
We reached out to both General Counsel and Legal Service Providers because we believe that the whole Corporate Legal sector could benefit from D&I knowledge sharing.
By supporting the EIL Statement, the participants declare to promote and stimulate Diversity and Inclusion. The EIL Platform – www.equalinlegal.com– offers the legal sector the possibility to share D&I initiatives and experiences with each other.
