Target group

GCN is exclusively for those who hold the position of ultimate responsible in-house lawyer in a medium-sized or large company in the Netherlands. This refers to those who report on the company’s legal risks to senior management and/or are part of it.

Although most General Counsel operate more and more as Legal Managers than as legal experts, the size of the legal department is not relevant for joining GCN. Of course, your nationality is not important; for foreign residents, we facilitate almost everything in English.

What does participation entail

As a GCN member you can participate in all GCN activities free of charge, including three large national meetings and at least two local GCN peer-to-peer group meetings each year. The best way to easily meet many peers and get useful tips. All activities are announced well in advance and then it’s easy to sign up as soon as more details are available.

The annual fee is currently EUR 995.- excl. VAT (year 2026). If you register in the month of July, August, September or October, the fee for the rest of the calendar year is currently EUR 495.- excl. VAT (year 2026). If you register in the month of November or December, participation is free for the rest of the calendar year, provided the membership is continued in the following calendar year.

During the calendar year you are entitled to, among other things:

Participation in the General Counsel NL Autumn Conference or the General Counsel NL Annual Diner
Participation in the General Counsel NL Summer Event
Participation in Peergroup meetings by size legal team
Participation in General Counsel NL Masterclasses
Receiving six General Counsel NL Newsletters full of up-to-date information, specifically interesting for GCs
Receiving the General Counsel NL Magazine at the end of the year
All detailed information on the General Counsel NL Benchmark Survey (every other year)
All detailed information on the General Counsel NL Award (every other year)

I would like to join GCN and agree to pay EUR 915.- excl. VAT (all-in membership fee 2025). I agree to pay this amount for the current calendar year if I join in January, February, March, April, May or June of the year. If I join in July, August, September or October, I will pay a fee of EUR 475.- excl. VAT (year 2025) for the current calendar year. If I join in November or December, I will have free membership for the rest of the calendar year, provided I continue my membership the following year. I have taken note of and accept the applicability of the Regulations for Participation in General Counsel Netherlands.

I understand that participation in GCN is from 1 January to 31 December of a calendar year and accept that this is always automatically renewed for another calendar year unless valid cancellation has taken place or alternative written agreements have been made. I understand and accept that I may cancel my participation by cancelling my membership at info@generalcounsel.nl by 31 October of a current calendar year. In the absence of a valid cancellation, I will be obliged to pay the annual fee for the following calendar year.
